Made Marion Development Update, July 2024

Hello everyone!  Hope you're enjoying the summer, and my best wishes to all of you on the eastern half of North America who have been dealing with hurricanes.

Project Status

Unfortunately, my fatigue and other medical stuff prevented me from finishing Will Chap 3 this month. To give you an overview of where we are on the route as a whole:

Writing: Will Chapter 3/4, close to 50k words out of about 80k Coding: Half of Chapter 1, waiting on editorial Editing: Writer edits complete on Chapters 1-2, waiting on reader edits. Backgrounds: 100% complete. Sprites: 3 NPC sprites needed (can launch without but hope to have). CGs: 2/5 complete. Cut-Ins: 1 of 3 nearly complete (the most complex one).

So we still have a ways to go, unfortunately. After many many tests, I'm officially being referred to an internal medicine specialist to see if we can improve my fatigue. I don't know how long it will take me to get in to see them, but hopefully not too long!

Thanks as always for all of your patience as our team navigates the challenges of complex illness!

Here's Will's intro CG that will show near the beginning of Sherwood Common:

Will has broken into Marion's carriage and is staring her down. She looks startled and concerned.

And a set of new facial expressions made specifically for this route (though I will add some rolling eye Will to the other routes as well).

Marion rolling her eyes.
Will rolling his eyes.

And finally, a silly "Happy Canada Day" pic I did for the first of July. The background is an alpine meadow in Manning Park, BC, taken by me.

See you next month!

It's better to take care of yourself and have the game be behind than to neglect your health. Thank you for the update! That CG is amazing. Will is stunning. Good luck with everything!

You’ve probably already looked into it, but my fatigue ended up being a chronic iron deficiency combined with a broken thyroid. Then, all my hair fell out. I really hope it gets better for you.

Oh, that sucks, I hope you've been able to correct it.  I've just been through a battery of tests since Jan. when I finally got a new doctor who was willing to look into it instead of telling me to "eat right and exercise."  Blood tests show my iron is fine but my B12 is low and I have systemic inflammation.  We've ruled out everything else and my symptoms started a week after I had Covid so she's now confident that she can send me to a specialist for long Covid.

I’m getting treatment and I’m still kicking.

I’m glad you found a doctor willing to listen. It’s so hard to convince a lot of them. I hope they find out what’s wrong soon and you get feeling better. Being sick - for any reason - really sucks.

Thank you!  If nothing else if we can treat the inflammation I'm dealing with we should be able to reduce my fatigue.  Thanks so much to all of our wonderful followers for being understanding. I'm mad that I work so slowly but it's hard when I'm constantly falling asleep.
