Velvet Cupcake Games is pleased to announce the release of its first demo for Made Marion: A Robin Hood Romance.

"How come nobody has made a Robin Hood otome?"  That one stray thought in 2017 led to the foundation of an indie visual novel studio dedicated to making this Medieval fantasy adventure a reality.  Our Sherwood demo introduces players to the strong-willed Lady Marion and the handsome rebels who kidnap rescue her as she's on the way to the troubled town of Nottingham.

Set in an alternate fantasy world, Made Marion adds a touch of magic to the beloved folk tales.  The showdown between the idealistic Robin of Locksley and the pragmatic Sheriff of Nottingham looms large, but there are hints of darker happenings in Sherwood Forest as well. We hope you enjoy this first peek at the game, and that you'll stick around to meet the rest of our love interests in the upcoming Nottingham demo!

Known Issues:

1. Extras and Glossary have not yet been implemented and are unavailable from the menus.

2. The "Explicit Text" preference toggle can be selected, but currently does nothing. The final game will have optional adults-only scenes, but there is no explicit text in the demo.

Backgrounds Under Construction

As our assets came together for this demo, the project leads made the decision to change background artists in order to create a more cohesive visual style for the game. Players can see the new background style in the waterfall and hot spring cave backgrounds found in the demo. The other backgrounds will be replaced with this new style before our final release.

What's Next?

Over the summer, we'll be developing our Nottingham demo, which will introduce players to love interests Meissa, Alanna, Geoffrey, and Gui. Yes, you will be able to romance Geoffrey, the Sheriff of Nottingham, along with several other city-based characters. The Nottingham demo will fully feature our new background art style, as well.

We plan to launch a full crowdfunding campaign in the fall. It's tentatively set for October.
